Shaft vs Dolemite

This is no mistake folks; you read that right, S-H-A-F-T vs D-O-L-E-M-I-T-E. This came about in a very random text message from Poison that I received last week, we argued back and forth, and no winner was really determined, so I thought ‘This month is movie month, so why not let the fans of the The Infection decide’

Let’s start with the Tale of the tape

Shaft Dolemite
Full Name John Shaft Dolemite Jenkins
Theme Song “Shaft” by Isaac Hayes, 1971 “Dolemite” by Ben Taylor
Profession Private Detective Pimp
Lowest Moment Using Ben’s army to get his daughter back Framed for stolen fur coats and drugs
Played by Richard Roundtree Rudy Ray Moore (who also wrote and produced the movie)
Also Played by Samuel L Jackson (I’ve had it with these mother fucking snakes on this mother fucking plane!) Clinton Portis (Washington Redskins RB)
Car Anything nearby 1970 Soft-top Cadillac Deville

Now I am an old school guy, so my guy here is Shaft because really, what black man in the 70s really knew any martial arts and also hoes for sidekicks? At least Shaft had expendable cops. Also Shaft got it done the only way possible by shooting someone; forget incapacitation, you’re Swiss cheese, you dead, you aren’t getting up. And really how can you not say Shaft when the opening line of his theme song is “Who’s the black private dick That’s a sex machine to all the chicks?”

Leave a comment with your own opinion, really, entertain us folks!

P.S. To make up for the lack of a song at the beginning of the month here is “Shaft”
